“Interior Design Diploma Showcase 2026: People & Places – Unearthing the Local Narrative
The Interior Design Department at Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) proudly presents the Interior Design Diploma Showcase 2026, themed “People & Places: Unearthing the Local Narrative.”
This showcase marks the culmination of our final semester diploma students’ academic journey, featuring a collection of design projects that explore the relationship between people, culture, communities, and the spaces they inhabit. Through thoughtful research, concept development, and creative execution, students translate everyday experiences and local narratives into meaningful spatial design solutions.
The exhibition highlights each student’s growth as emerging designers, reflecting their dedication, creativity, and passion throughout their diploma journey. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of design works while gaining insight into the ideas and processes behind each project.
The event will also feature an opening ceremony, guest sharing session by industry professional IDr EiLing Tay, student project viewing, and networking opportunities with lecturers, students, and invited guests.

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
