TARREGA (Malaysia) International Guitar Festival 2017

The MIA Guitar Ensemble (Desmond Lim Dao Wei, Cheng Chau Yew, Hor Yee Cheng, Yee Zi Yi) participated in the TARREGA (Malaysia) International Guitar Festival 2017 on 19th August 2017 at Damansara Performing Arts Centre and was awarded Silver Diploma for their performance.

Ipoh Music Festival Choir Competition 2017

The MIA Men’s Chorus participated in the Ipoh Music Festival Choir Competition and was awarded as the 3rd prize winner in the choir category and received a cash prize of RM4,000. The event was organized by Joyous Music Centre, Ipoh on 15th September 2017.

Hainan (21st Century Maritime Silk Road) Choir Festival 2017

The MIA Ladies Chorus was invited to attend the 2017 Hainan (21st Century Maritime Silk Road) Choir Festival from 18 – 24 November 2017. They performed in the international choral concerts and the costs to attend the event were sponsored by the organizer.

MIID REKA Awards 2017 for Design Excellence (student category)

Interior Design student Ng Jar Sin won the Honorable Mention Award for her project titled Artist Centre, in the MIID REKA Awards 2017 for Design Excellence in the student category.

MIA Percussion Ensemble from Department of Music won the Best Performance Award and People’s Choice Award from the Malaysia Percussion Festival 2017 at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre on 18th June 2017.

5th Vietnam International Choir Competition organized by INTERKULTUR

MIA’s Ladies Chorus has attained an outstanding achievement in the 5th Vietnam International Choir Competition on 11 June 2017. The chorus, conducted by Ms Susanna Saw, is the winner of the Female Choirs Category and it has received a GOLDEN DIPLOMA – LEVEL IV.
