Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) is proud to announce that Kam Boey, a student from the Diploma in Graphic Design programme, has been awarded Second Prize in the Hanzi Angpow Design Contest.
Kam Boey’s submission impressed the panel of judges with its vibrant colour palette, intricate detailing, and creative interpretation of cultural motifs. The design was praised for its modern aesthetic while retaining the festive spirit and symbolism of traditional Chinese angpow (red packet) design.
Organised to celebrate creativity in Chinese New Year traditions, the Hanzi Angpow Design Contest received numerous entries from emerging talents across the country. Kam Boey’s achievement highlights the exceptional standard of design education and creative exploration fostered at MIA.
