REKA Awards 2026 is a Premier Interior Design Awards program organized annually by MIID. The Award presentation was held on the 23rd September 2026 at the Immersify, Kuala Lumpur. The program (competition) was held in recognition of Design Excellence from three categories; Professional, Concept and Student categories. The Interior Design Department submitted 4 entries from the Diploma program, selected from student’s final year projects under the January-April 2026 academic session to participate in the competition.

Khoo Xuan Yu, with her final year project titled Reminiscence: Dementia Care Centre, presented a conceptual institutional design for a specialised dementia care facility in Teluk Intan, Perak. The project is designed to support the ageing community experiencing difficulties with memory, problem-solving, planning, and language, while providing a supportive and conducive environment for their care and well-being.

Tey En En, with her final year project titled Lorong Tukang: Reviving Repair Culture, presented an urban repair hub that repurposes the historic Odeon Cinema in Kuala Lumpur into a shared, hyperlocal environment for traditional artisans and craftspeople.
