Graphic Design Student’s Work Selected in Top 100 at ASEAN-China Design Convergence 2025

Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) is proud to announce that Syed Mohamed Raid, a student from the Diploma in Graphic Design programme, has been selected among the Top 100 entries out of over 900 submissions in the prestigious ASEAN-China Design Convergence 2025. 

Syed’s artwork, inspired by Malaysia’s rich multicultural heritage, creatively integrates iconic local elements such as the durian fruit, multilingual expressions, and cultural motifs to reflect the country’s diversity and unity. His design stood out for its vibrant visual storytelling and thoughtful celebration of Malaysian identity within a contemporary context. 

The ASEAN-China Design Convergence is a regional platform that connects young designers from Southeast Asia and China, encouraging cultural dialogue through design innovation. Syed’s achievement highlights the global relevance of Malaysian design narratives and the creative calibre of MIA students on the international stage.
