Ever wondered how to turn some of the glorious colours in your garden into homemade paints to use around the house? Using plants to make dyes is an age-old art that will truly make you feel like you’re getting back to your roots. Artists have used natural pigments since prehistoric times. Explore ancient techniques to master natural pigment-making skills and try at home. Creating your own pigments is not just fun to do, or a lesson in art, but also introduces aspects of history, biology and chemistry.
About Instructor:
Guat Ling holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Visual Communication Design from Middlesex University, London, UK (1995). She has worked in several design companies including Hallmark Greeting Cards, Communications Identity, Silicon Media and Immortal Design (Malaysia). She was a design educator at KBU International College for 10 years before becoming a full-time artist and a freelance designer. Her artworks has been exhibited both locally and abroad namely Penang, Klang Valley and Seoul, Korea. She has served as honorary Secretary for wREGA (Graphic Association of Malaysia) from 2012-2014 and is a professional member of wREGA.
Currently, with her background in Art Therapy from Alumnus University, Germany, she conducts therapeutic arts to the public.
