Introduction of Chinese Ink Painting (Xieyi – Freehand) Class

Xieyi (Freehand), meaning “sketching the idea”, is a prominent style in traditional Chinese ink painting. It emphasizes expressive brushwork over realistic depiction, often use raw rice paper to convey mood and spirit through minimal but powerful strokes.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of Xieyi painting, emphasizing personal expression, brush techniques and aesthetic principles.
