The Fine Art’s “7 Dialogues” group had participated in Malaysia Art Ecosystem Festival (MAEF) from 3 – 5 December 2021 at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) The event was launch on Saturday, 4 December 2021 by Dato’ Tom Abang Saufi, Chairman of National Visual Arts Development Board, National Art Gallery. This festival was organized by National Art Gallery and supported by Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture (MoTac).

Six Fine Art students won Consolation Prize which they had walked away with RM800 cash each and 1 student won the People’s Choice Award with RM500 cash in Art Against AIDS 2021. The Award Ceremony will be on Sunday, 28 November 2021 at 10:00am at Segaris Art Centre, Publika, Kuala Lumpur.

The Fine Art department had successfully launched the virtual Diploma Show #3 with the title “7 Dialogues” on Friday, 5 November 2021. The show was presented by 7 graduates namely Cheah Li Li, Gina Chuah Hooi Ming, Nor Farhana Rahmat, Kida Tan Zu Wen, Nurini Hashim, Yong Hui Lin and Yuki Lim Xiao Mun. The show was started on the 5th and ended on 30th November 2021.

The Bakat Mahasiswa project by National Art Gallery collaborated with Fine Art Department of MIA was successfully conducted from September – November 2021. The Grand Prize Award winners are Danielle Lin Xuan-En, Lim Soon Hock and Lim Tong Xin while Honourable Mention Award recipients are Isabel Yap Ye Ern, Tan Hong Jie and Sin Yee Chin. All award recipients are from semester 6 students.

Two Fine Art recent graduates, Mr Fiqri Adnan and Ms Gina Chuah Hooi Ming was participating in ArtAidArtist, a virtual art exhibition to support artists who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The initiative was organized by HOM Art Trans, Chetak 12 Studio and partnership with MIA. The Phase #2 was started from 2 – 23 September 2021 and artworks by Gina Chuah was sold out.
